5/23 pictures of the siding replacement

These pictures were taken 5/23, when most of the siding has been removed. It shows that, and also shows some of my nephew Davin's handy work, building a completely new floor, in the downhill side of the crawl space. The walls are all 1/2" plywood to provide lateral stability. If there are no windows, and no inside access to the area, you don't need a permit. (And nobody comes to see that you've done it according to code.) So he added 500 sq ft of storage area to the house.

Now on to today's pictures. I'm having trouble getting the formatting exactly right, but this'll do for today.

I like looking in the crawl space when you can see clear through it.

That's only going to happen when all of the siding is removed, as it is today.

Front part of the left side of the house, with all siding removed.

Looking at the back of the left side of the house. Davin installed the pink insulatin when he added 3 rooms underneath the 2nd floor.

same corner from the perspective more toward the back of the house. Even with the new floor, there's still space under that.

Most of the siding is removed from the house. I hope there isn't an earthquake, because the lateral support is diminished

Back of the house. Interesting that they were able to get siding off with nothing to stand on.

Right side of the house, from near the front. I hope there isn't an earthquake, because the lateral is diminished

Right side again, from the yard next door.

Davin put in all that pink insulation. Too bad I didn't get pictures when he was working on the house.

Same corner, looking into the crawl space.

Left side of the house, from the back, showing the dtairs and deck that Davin made. And the door he put into the house.

The other deck, stairs, and door that Davin made. The hole on the left leads to the crawl space.

Trying to look into the crawl space. I think we saw a fox in there some years ago.
